What’s a licensed National Guide:
In Tunisia, it is possible to obtain the ONTT (Office National du Tourisme en Tunisie) qualification and license through a national competitive exam or a specific training in the IHET (Institut des Hautes Etudes Touristiques of Sidi Dhrif). At the end of his career development of three years coupled with practical trainings, a National Guide has to master several languages the cultural heritage and other interesting subjects of his country.
Guides in Tunisia generally depend on the agencies who hire them. However, some of these licensed guides who have decided to work independently by proposing a set of excursions that significant exceed the quality and the consistency of those proposed by these agencies.
